Ah, you say that now, Sil. But who knows what kinky horrors you could persuade me to do after 10 pints of Old Scumfungus at the Welly with your harem?

Cheers again, Mike; I've amended instructions accordingly.

It is odd; when I set up the machine before wrapping it up, the instructions told me that I would need to enter a password and set the timezone on first boot -- but it just went to the main screen, bypassing that step.

It would be nice to add Opera in the main icon screen.

Hi Bruce,

Steps 1-4 are only needed if you don't know the root password. Typically this is set by the user the very first time the machine is switched on (it's the page before it asks for timezone information, I think).

What we are basically doing is resetting the root password, and it's weird that it lets you override the root password without asking for the current one.

For people who know this password, they can start installing Opera from step 4 - starting up the default web browser.

On the Opera website, select the Fedora distribution of Linux. I went for the "Fedora 7, 8, 9, 10" version.

On step 6 when it asks for a password - that's the root password that was set in step 3.

I don't have the Opera logo in any pane I can see, so I just press Alt-F2 to open a "Run program" dialogue box, and enter 'Opera'.
