Four Things

I don’t usually do these meme things (cos they’re just geekspeak for “Chain Letter” to show that we’re not the AOL hoi-palloi), but John Oxton tagged me and he’s a big scary bastard.

Four jobs I’ve had in my life

Four movies I can watch over and over

  • A Man for All Seasons
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • Kind Hearts and Coronets
  • Lesbian Lavatory Lust (3D version) Apocalypse Now (the original version; the Redux one drags dreadfully)

Four places I have lived

Four TV shows I love to watch

  • The West Wing
  • Fawlty Towers
  • Question Time
  • Friends. Sure, it’s lightweight, but some excellent scripts.

Four places I have been on holiday

Four of my favourite dishes

  • Traditional roast lamb, roast potatoes, sprouts, cauli, broccoli, gravy
  • Ba Mee Moo Deng (Thai red pork and noodle dish)
  • Japanese bento box, wasabi, miso soup, kimchi, warm sake, green tea
  • Turkish meze (stuffed vine leaves, hot peppers, all the other dishes)
  • (A bloody good Chicken and Spinach Balti gets an honourable mention here)

Four websites I visit daily

Four places I would rather be right now

  • Bangkok, having a Thai massage before going out for food with mates
  • Sugar Cane Guest House, Kanchanaburi, on the terrace of the floating guesthouse we visited for long weekends away from Bangkok, watching the river lotuses bob up and down as the long-tail boats go by, sipping a beer as the sunsets over the mountains of the Burmese border
  • Watching earth-rise from a moonbase
  • Tokyo, with all my expenses paid. I’ve always been fascinated by Japan since studying haiku. It was my reason for learning to be an English teacher, but I never got there.

Four bloggers I am tagging

Three web standards women, and an old friend I visited for new year who’s got nothing to do with web standards at all (and yet is a good person all the same):

that was so much more entertaining than eating lunch! now what is this silly comment you made about a boring post that has been interrupted. don’t you think standards are incredibly sexy? nothin’ like a semantically marked up standards based site to get my motor runnin’!
